10:00 Sunday May 23 2021

Current Participants: 5 space(s) available

The ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group and to anyone who has been on one of our newcomers’ rides

If you are new to Wirral Cycling Group, but would like to join us on this ride, then please speak to the ride leader, John Hampson, on 07396 364702 before booking a place.

You must not join a ride if you or anyone in your household is experiencing any of the Covid-19 symptoms or if you have been advised to self-isolate

The ride will be 28 miles long, Grade C, starting at 10 am from outside Hooton railway station.  Trains arrive at Hooton from Hamilton Square at 9:42 and 9:57 on Sunday mornings.  The ride leader will be John Hampson and he will be at Hooton station from 9:45.  We aim to be back at Hooton before 14:00.

Click on the following links if you would like to see the route on Komoot: Ride from Hooton to Chester Racecourse or on Garmin Connect: Hooton to Chester Racecourse (they are both  free to use).

We plan to eat on the seats in the Groves next to the River Dee in Chester.  We expect the café there to be serving take-away food only, so people can either buy something there or bring their own sandwiches and a drink. We also expect the public toilets at the Groves to be open.   We will go to Chester via Rivacre Park, Little Stanney and Upton-by-Chester stopping for a ‘banana’ break by the elephants at Chester Zoo (you can often see them from the path); and we will return via the cycle track around Chester Racecourse then through Blacon, Saughall, Capenhurst and back to Hooton.

Bookings no longer allowed on this date.
