This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

    Ride Grade: C+

    Distance: 25 miles to lunch at Ellesmere Port Boat Museum, 44 miles total for those wishing to return to West Kirby. Almost all on good surfaces.

    Ride Leader: Paul Malloy

    Start Time: 10.30, please arrive by about 10.15.

    Start Location: West Kirby Merseyrail Station (inside the entrance, off Grange Road).

    Route: This will take us along Hoylake and Meols prom, Leasowe Road, New Brighton and Egremont proms, over Birkenhead Docks, through Rock Park and Eastham Woods and along North Road to Ellesmere Port. The return route will be via Little Sutton, Hooton Station, Raby, Thornton Hough, Irby, Frankby and Caldy.

    Seating is available near the cafe for those wishing to take their own food. 

    There are Merseyrail stations at Ellesmere Port, Little Sutton and Hooton for those wishing to “take an early bath”.
