Friday ride starting 10am from Station Master’s Cafe, Hadlow Rd. The café opens at 09:30 should nutrition be needed.

So given it’s winter and the days are short and the weather iffy I’m planning on a ‘winter series’ format of up to 2hr (ish) ride to and from lunch, then even allowing an hour for lunch/mechanicals we should be back at start/marsh gate for 3pm allowing nearly an hour to commute before sunset (obviously lights are needed just in case). So with the daylight limiting our options we’ll just rotate our way through local cafes until day length is restored, but note that sunsets worsen only by 5 minutes (but sunrises still get later by 20mins until early Jan!).

So Friday this week will probably be to the Hwb going out via the Dee, Bretton, Kinnerton, Burton for 20m or via the Old Warren, Kinnerton for 24m, route out depends on the forecast, the return can be between 16m and 24m (to gate or Hooton) and the longer routes pass Chester station and again the route depends on the weather. Bail out options include the Chapel and Walters.

If forecasts improve (or worsen) then we can decide on the day.
