10:00 Friday December 3 2021
Current Participants: 1 space(s) available This is a B+ ride and is fairly hilly, a good bit shorter to allow for limited daylight hours but with some lumps in Little Switzerland to make up (but not the worst!!)
Ride starts at Hooton at 10pm (train arrives 9:52)
Outbound is via Riveacre, Rossmore, Oil Sites Rd, Dunham on the Hill, Manley then avoiding Yeld Lane into Kelsall then up to the Sandstone Trail ridge above Kelsall before dropping into Utkinton and lunch at Roses Tea Room.
21m and 1000 feet according to Garmin (34km and 303m)

Return is Duddon, Waverton, Stoak, A5117, Capenhurst.
22m 230′ (35km 70m)

Bail options:- On the return route it would be possible to leave the ride at the Greenway to make your own way to Bache to save about 8 miles, carrying on to Capenhurst is only 4 more miles and needs no navigation ability. Capenhurst might be a good choice of finish as it has 4 trains an hour, 2 fewer than Hooton but does have flat access.
Bring lights and warm clothes!!
Neil’s Friday rides in general :-
These are an occasional Friday ride for those who want to go a bit faster, maybe that bit further, and a bit higher (but we’ll settle for 2 of 3 ), the idea being to encourage those WCG members who are already happy on the existing higher grade club rides to join me and push ourselves that bit more.
The rides in general will be around 50-60 mile round trips, initial rides are outbound via the River Dee, or the Greenway, and will run out into Cheshire, North Wales or both. The actual route to be decided nearer the time and is open to suggestions. Cafe stop around the half-way mark, or a picnic nearby usually.
