(A-) Marsh Gate Audlem 100* miler (actually 82 mile loop so needs 18 commute)

09:00 Friday April 11 2025

Current Participants: 0 space(s) available

Friday “century” ride starting at the Marsh Gate at 9am (sorry no cafes open)

This is the first century ride of the Friday season and as usual it’s just a big loop, the extra mileage needed for the century over the ~82m of this loop is entirely up to you, please note that it’s very hard adding mileage at the end so get out early (or not!)
Probably plenty of parking at this hour for anyone wanting to do just the loop.

Usual format of early season long rides is using 3 stops/4 legs, the first leg is just ~19m from the gate (but is 29m for some) this leg takes us out to Maggie’s at Holt (I suggest cake and coffee for speed if it’s busy?) the next ~24m leg is to lunch at the Audlem Marina cafe at roughly the half way mark, after lunch a ~26m 3rd leg takes homeward to Christleton Pond and the cake-mobile for a cake/biscuit frenzy, fruit too and cold/hot (ok lukewarm) drinks, the final ~14m leg is back to near the Marsh Gate (OK the Harp 😉 ) and ends our ride. From the loop end any further commute/crawl/taxi home is up to you.

Option to bail out is at Chester and just 2.5m from the cake-mobile stop, this leg saver using the train cuts 11m from the loop, but only knocks 6 miles off if you need to go back to the start from Hooton…
