The ride is open to all paid -up members of the Wirral Cycling Group and to anyone who has been on one of our newcomers’ rides.

The ride will start at 10:30 am from outside The Cafe in The Park in Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre and will be a Grade C/D ride just short of 20 miles to Popsy’s Cafe in Meols where there is outdoor seating. There is also plenty of seating on the promenade.

Please be at the start by 10:15 am at the latest to register and get a briefing on the ride and route.  The ride leader, Jill McNamee will be at the Birkenhead Park from 10:00 am.

The route will go out via Lever Causeway to Storeton, then Heswall, Thurstaston, Greasby, Frankby, West Kirby and Hoylake, to the finish with lunch at Popsy’s Cafe on Meols Promenade.  Meols station is close by for any riders wishing to take the train home.  Jill will be cycling on to New Brighton, a further 5 miles.  Returning to Birkenhead Park is an extra 4 miles or so, mostly on the Wirral Circular Trail.
