Monday16th June: Upton upon Severn (D+)
Route planned by Michael Phillips -Worcester Meerkat Wheelers
Ride Leader: Robert Holmes
Meeting at the Premier Inn City Centre Hotel at the earlier time of 9.15am for a 9.30am departure.
This ride is 32 miles long and with approximately 950 ft of climbing. It is a shorter ride, returning to Worcester for lunch so that those staying until Monday can ride in the morning and journey back home in the afternoon.
The route exits the South of Worcester via the Malvern Pedway and continues South through Powick and Madresfield, skirting Great Malvern.
At the Southern tip of the route is a climb up to Hill End where we will stop for a banana break. The views from there are magnificent (weather permitting).
Continuing from Hill End, we will come to Upton upon Severn where public toilets are available.
From Upton we cross the River Severn and head North through Earl’s Croome, Kinnersley and Pirton to arrive back at Worcester for lunch.
The Goodroots Coffee Shop next to Royal Worcester Porcelain has been suggested as the lunch venue.
