Current Participants: 4 space(s) available This Ride is primarily a Newcomers ride, however it would be great (as its a Wed) to be joined by some of our regular members who could both assist and offer advice and guidance to our potentially new members. We would start by splitting / briefing the group into the Newcomers and a regular D group ride. After the initial start we would then amalgamate if appropriate and safe to do so. As it is starting as two rides we would require someone to take responsibility as ride leader, follow us, and someone to volunteer to be a back marker.
The ride will be 25 miles long, Grade D, and will start at 10 am from outside the Village Hall on Manor Road in Thornton Hough. The ride leader (Dave Hill and Peter Williams) and the back-marker will be at the start from 9:45. We aim to be back at Thornton Hough before 14:00.
Click on the next link if you would like to see the route (or download it onto a ride computer) on Komoot: Thornton Hough to Burton Marsh or on Garmin Connect: Thornton Hough to Burton Marsh (they are both free to use).
Our first short break for a banana (or any other snack you want to bring) will be by Burton Marsh after six miles. We plan to stop for a lunch break at Burton Manor after about 18 miles before returning to Thornton Hough.
