For Demonstration Only:  This is a non-existent ride to allow ride leaders to see how the booking system works.

Please feel free to use the booking system to add yourself to the ride, and remove your booking later using the link on the confirmation email you will receive.  The number of places is limited to eight and so new bookings will not be allowed once there are eight participants on the ride.

To add a future ride, all the ride leader has to provide is the Title, Time and Date (shown in Purple above), some words about the ride, which can include links to other sites (shown in Black [links in Blue] between the list of participants and the location map) and a Start Location (either choosing one of our regular locations or by typing in a new location in OpenStreet map; the displayed map is generated automatically).  The ride leader can set their own limit for the number of participants; this demonstration has a limit of eight.  Once the ride is set up people can book on and off the ride themselves.

The ride will be 25 miles long, Grade C, and will start at 10 am from outside the Village Hall on Manor Road in Thornton Hough.  The ride leader will be John Hampson and he will be at the start from 9:45.  We aim to be back at Thornton Hough before 14:00.

Click on the next link if you would like to see the route on Komoot: Ride from Thornton Hough to Burton Marsh  If you want to download the route onto a Garmin or other ride computer, you can log-in and export a GPX file from Komoot.

Our first short break for a banana (or any other snack you want to bring) will be by Burton Marsh after six miles.  We plan to stop for a lunch break at Ness Gardens after about 19 miles (if it is open) or (if Ness Gardens is shut) by the green at Ness a mile further on for your home-made sandwich or snack.

Before joining the ride make sure that you check out our Website for advice on taking part in one of our rides and for some tips on group riding from Cycling UK: https://wirralcycling.org/participation/
