(C) Hooton to West Kirby

10:00 Sunday November 20 2022

Current Participants: 2 space(s) available

    Ride Leader – Clare Procter

    Start – 10am

    Meet 9.45am outside Hooton station

We will meander across Wirral heading first towards Thornton Hough then up Redhill Rd towards Bebington, up through Prenton, Saughall Massie, Upton to West Kirby. 21 miles to lunch stop.

We will be lunching at Tanskeys in Coronation gardens. This is a lovely venue and great minds think alike as Barry is leading a ride there the following Wednesday.

The return for those wishing to ride back to Hooton will be along the Wirral Way as far as Thurstaston then up to Irby, Pensby, Thornton Hough, Willaston and back to Hooton. 34 mile round trip.

There are quite a few hills on this ride – Resthill Rd, Mount Rd and  Burrell Rd in Prenton, Ford Rd Upton on the outward leg and on the return leg Station Rd, Thurstaton and Irby Rd Pensby. None of these are too challenging though.  For every uphill there is usually a corresponding downhill such as Bracken Lane in Bebington, Reservoir Rd and Waterpark Rd in Prenton and Saughall Massie Lane.

Please make sure your bike is in good working order with working lights and that you carry a spare inner tube.
