33 miles, C ride pace 10 to 12 mph. Well surfaced roads and bike paths, with a short Wirral Way section in Neston. Predominantly flat with any gradients being in our favour.
The outward section is 20 miles with lunch at The Old Chapel Cafe in Saltney Ferry. We’ll start from the Merebrook car park next to Bromborough railway station, heading towards Benty Heath Lane, Raby, Thornton Hough, Leighton Road, Neston, Little Neston, Ness, Burton Marshes, Deeside Industrial Estate, The Greenway, & a little bit of Blacon.
The return leg of 13 miles may see us battling with the wind for 4 miles along the Dee bike path , before cutting up to Garden City, on to Woodbank Lane, crossing the A540 with care, to Capenhurst, Ledsham, The Missing Link, & finishing at Hooton railway station. (Hooton station is only 2 stops away from Bromborough on the same line. It makes the ride a little shorter & helps avoid fading daylight, but people are welcome to follow me back to Bromborough if they prefer.)
The ride leader, David Hill, will be outside the Merebrook from 9.45 am for registration with a 10 am depart. (If driving to Bromborough, please park at the station car park, not the Merebrook’s.
