(C+) Hooton to Lockgate Cafe near Beeston

10:00 Sunday July 9 2023

Current Participants: 0 space(s) available

This is a 55 mile ride from Hooton to Lockgate Cafe on the Shropshire Union near Beeston. It is relatively undemanding climbing wise so given the distance to cover it would be run at a top end C pace (12 mph), hence the C+ grading.

The ride will be led by Dave Branch and start from Hooton station at 10 am. Meet at 9.45 for briefing.

This would be ideal for riders who fancy a slightly longer ride, and particularly people thinking of going to Shrewsbury to get some miles in the legs without too much climbing.

From Hooton the route goes via Hadlow Road, across the Marsh and then the Greenway to Guilden Sutton, Waverton and out pass Tattenhall marina and Beeston castle to Lockgate (c30 miles). The return route takes us back to Waverton pass Walkmill, Mickle Trafford, Stoak, A5117 cycle path to Capenhurst, missing link back to Hooton
