(D) Birkenhead Park to Courtyard Cafe, Brimstage

10:00 Wednesday August 16 2023

Current Participants: 1 space(s) available

This is a repeat of a ride put on by Paul Malloy earlier this year, which at the time I felt at a gentler pace would make a good D ride. So here it is. They say imitation is best form of flattery and after Shrewsbury I suspect this will be the most I can cope with!

The ride will be led by Dave Branch and we’ll meet at Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre at 9.45 for a 10 am start.

The ride is c 23 miles with just 600 feet of climbing. The only little tug will be at Raby Mere.

The route will take us down to Woodside, through Rock Park and Port Sunlight to Raby Mere (snack stop). From Raby Mere we’ll go to Eastham Rake, Hooton station, Missing Link to Burton and down to the Marsh. We’ll take  the path (pass Nets) to Neston and along Leighton Road and Runnel to Thornton Hough and Brimstage.

Riders will make their own way home after lunch at Brimstage Courtyard.

There could be option for riders to join at Port Sunlight if they fancy a shorter ride or can’t face the mean streets of Birkenhead!
