This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

      The ride will be just under 35 miles, Grade C, starting from the car park of the Merebrook Hotel, next to Bromborough Railway Station at 10:00 am. The ride leader will be John Hampson and he will be at the start at 09:45 am.

      At the beginning of the ride we will divert to the offices of Autism Together at 6 Tebay Road in Bromborough to present a cheque for the money collected by the group at Christmas.

       The out through Eastham Village, Rivacre Valley and Ellesmere Port, then along Oil Sites Road and a quick tour around Ince before our snack break.  Continuing via Thornton, and on to Mickle Trafford and the Greenway, then through Hoole to the Groves by the River Dee at Chester for lunch (toilets, cafes and outside seating to eat your own food are allavailable).  After lunch we go around the racecourse, past the Countess of Chester Hospital and along the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal to Lea-by-Backford, then back to Bromborough via Great Sutton, Little Sutton and Hooton Station.

      There are no significant hills and a few sections (such as the canal towpath) on gravel tracks, but with good surfaces.   Here is the route on Komoot: Ince and the Greenway
