(D) Christmas ride, Arrowe Park to Lever’s Club, Port Sunlight

10:30 Wednesday December 10 2025

Current Participants: 7 space(s) available

An easy ride of about 13 miles from Red Rooms, Arrowe Park to join the WCG Christmas Party (details to be posted separately) at The Lever’s Club, Port Sunlight. Riders are invited to dress up their bicycles and themselves with a Christmas theme (without compromising safety). I believe there could be a prize for best costume. This is a repeat of last year’s ride, devised and led by Mark Burrows.

The ride leader is Rob Holmes and I will be at the Red Rooms, Arrowe Park from 10.15am, ready to start the ride at 10.30 am.

We will set off from Arrowe Park at a gentle pace of 8 – 10 mph in the direction of Barnston to Join the top Chester Road at the Glegg Arms Roundabout (short sharp climb out of Barnston Dale). From the top Chester Road we will join Boathouse Lane and then half way down join Leighton Road to Neston.

Pausing at St Mary’s & St Helen’s Church in Neston will give us the opportunity to take some photographs before setting off again along Hinderton Road. There is a steady climb (2 – 4%) here for about 1 mile to the top of Quarry Road. After that it is pretty much plain sailing to Port Sunlight, getting to our destination between 12 and 12.30pm.

For those wishing to get back to Arrowe Park after the event, the return journey will be via Rest Hill Road, Station Road and Barnston
