PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF START TIME FROM 10:30 to 10:00 am

Starting from the Pier Head in Liverpool at 10:00 am, this is a grade C ride out to and along the Liverpool Loop Line at just over 37 miles in length.

The ride leader will be John Hampson and he will be by the Beatles statue at the Pier Head from 09:45 am

The route goes out to Toxteth, though Princess, Sefton and Calderstone’s Parks to Hunts Cross, then all the way along the Liverpool Loop Line to Aintree.  Then back through the Rimrose Valley, Bootle and Walton for lunch at The Cafe in the Park in Stanley Park.    There are park benches nearby for those who want to bring their own sandwiches.   We will then return via Everton Brow, the University and by both Cathedrals, arriving back at the Pier Head between 15:00 and 15:30.

The route is relatively flat, with just under half of the route on quite roads and just under half on dedicated cycleways.  There is a section of 1.5 miles on the towpath of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal between Netherton and Litherland.  See the full route here on Komoot: Liverpool Loop and on Garmin Liverpool Loop
