This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

C ride Hooton Station to Hayrack Farm

      This is a C ride 25 miles return.  Ride Leader:   Una Keane

      We will be following Sue Hughes route to Thornton le Moors.

       

      On the day we suggest that you should bring:

      • wet weather wear and warm clothing
      • a spare inner tube, a pump  and tyre levers
      • some food and drink to keep you going
      • money for emergencies (and possibly lunch)
      • a mobile phone

      and that you should carry details of your address and an emergency telephone contact number, just in case.

      Distance This is a Grade C ride  to Thornton le Moor. With a return route back along Oil sites Road, passed Boat Museum and  Vauxhalls through old Hooton Aerodrone   25.18 miles in total

      Meeting We will be meeting outside Hooton Station at 9.45 for a 10:00 depart.  Note shorter days so aim to return in good Daylight

          

      Route Leaving Hooton Station ,though Capenhurst  to Dunkirk and along to Picton Lane to Mickle Trafford and along to Bridge Trafford and Ince Lane to Thornton-le-Moor Returning back Oil Site Road pass Boat Museum  back to Hooton.

      Lunch will be at Hayrack Church Farm (just after midday)  They have a Light Bites Menu along with Breakfast and Mains Menu . Should you have any dietary needs then please phone the cafe:   01244 301473  and make your own individual arrangements.

      Hazards Riding a bicycle on public roads is inherently a risk, you can mitigate those risks by being aware of other road users and anticipating their likely actions.
