Port Sunlight to Willaston and Woodchurch

10:00 Sunday April 11 2021

Current Participants: 2 space(s) available

The ride is open to all paid -up members of the Wirral Cycling Group and to anyone who has been on one of our newcomers’ rides

If you are new to Wirral Cycling Group, but would like to join us on this ride, then please speak to the ride leader, John Hampson, on 07396 364702 before booking a place.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a maximum of six participants on this ride

You must not join a ride if you or anyone in your household is experiencing any of the Covid-19 symptoms or if you have been advised to self-isolate

The ride will be just over 25 miles long, Grade C, starting at 10 am from outside the Tudor Rose Tea Rooms opposite Port Sunlight railway station.  Trains arrive at Port Sunlight from Hamilton Square at 9:46 and from Hooton at 9:52 on Sunday mornings.  The ride leader will be John Hampson and he will be at the start from 9:45.  We aim to be back at Port Sunlight between 13:30 and 14:00.

Click on the next link if you would like to see the route on Komoot: Ride from Port Sunlight to Willaston and Woodchurch or on this link for Garmin Connect: Port Sunlight to Willaston and Woodchurch (both are free to use when you register).

We will go out along the cycle track to Eastham Ferry and have a short break in Eastham Village for a banana (or chocolate) break before passing through Willaston, and on to Raby, Thornton Hough, Brimstage and up Landican Lane, before a stop for lunch at the Red Rooms café at Arrowe Park.  The café should be open for take-aways, but with Covid-19 restrictions, we will most probably have to eat outside.  But that does mean that you can bring your own sandwiches and drinks if you prefer.   I suspect that the toilets there will be shut, but we will go past Asda supermarket at Woodchurch two miles later if anyone needs to go.  Our final leg will be via Prenton, Victoria Park and Rock Park before returning to Port Sunlight station.

Bookings no longer allowed on this date.
