This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

(D) Thornton Hough to Ellesmere Port Boat Museum

      The ride will be 25 miles long, Grade D, and will start at 10:30 am from outside the Café at Thornton Hough Village Hall on Manor Rd, Thornton Hough.  The ride leader will be Sonia Oldershaw and she will be in the cafe from 10:00 am.

      The ride will go from Thornton Hough via Neston, Burton, Ledsham and Capenhurst, then avoiding the Shropshire Union canal, as riders have experienced punctures here on recent Sunday ride, to stop for lunch at the Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port after 16 miles. There are benches by the Ship canal for those who have sandwiches, also the new Port & Anchor café is open.

      Return trip back to Thornton Hough is about 8 miles, going through Rivacre, passing Hooton Merseyrail station after 4 miles for those who wish to leave the ride there.
