Distance The ride out to Chester Groves is 21.1 miles and will be a Grade C ride. With a return route back to Port Sunlight of miles. 21.8 in total.
Meeting We will be meeting at Port Sunlight Station at 9.45 for a 10:00 depart.
Possible obstacles The route is relatively flat with a couple of lumpy bits from time to time, but nothing apart from a few minutes of pain to worry about. Nothing that a low gear and a pair of climbing legs won’t resolve anyway.
Route is available on Komoot (see above)
Lunch will be at (about 1.15) no reservations for lunch as there are a wide variety of outlets along the Groves it is up to you where you lunch. We will agree a time once we get down to the River Dee for the start of our return (see route above).
Hazards Riding a bicycle on public roads is inherently a risk, you can mitigate those risks by making yourself aware of other road users and trying to anticipate their likely actions or maneuvers.
After Lunch I will be returning back to Port Sunlight for approx 15.30, if you do not wish to go back as far as this then you can leave the ride at a junction that is more suitable to your needs.
Trains Chester train station has frequent trains that will return you to the Wirral so I would advise you to bring money for both your lunch and the train should you choose to use them. Ellesmere Port 11 min and 51 min past the hour every hour. Chester depart at 28 and 58 min past.
