Distance The ride is 23.6 miles out to Nets Cafe and will be a Grade C ride. With a return route back through Neston and Wirral Way of 9 miles. 33.00 in total.
Meeting We will be meeting outside West Kirby Fire Station (around the back of the Library) at 9.45 for a 10:00 depart.
Possible obstacles Some hills, Steepest is Grammar School Lane not really necessary but you’ll feel great having completed it. Montgomery Hill up into Irby is long 2.1 miles but not too steep. The climb out of Heswall Lower Village doesn’t count as a climb just uphill slope, as is The Runnell. Nothing too grueling. The rest of the ride is the expected up and downs of the Wirral.
Route Leaving West Kirby through the cemetery and through to Caldy cross rd, Left up Montgomery Hill to Irby, Heswall Lower Village and wind are way around Thornton Hough, Willaston, Missing Link, A540 Chester High Rd on the road for 1/2 mile, Puddington, and into Burton and Nets West Kirby to Nets
Lunch will be at Net’s (about midday) which we as a group have visited on a number of times over recent years. Should you have any dietary needs then please phone the cafe and make your own individual arrangements.
Hazards Riding a bicycle on public roads is inherently a risk, you can mitigate those risks by being aware of other road users and anticipating their likely actions.
After Lunch I will be returning back to West Kirby via the Wirral Way.
Trains There various train stations across the Wirral that will take you back to West Kirby, Neston will take you back to Upton.
