(B) Hadlow Rd to Old Stores Cafe (Leeswood)

10:00 Wednesday March 4 2026

Current Participants: 2 space(s) available

Friday ride starting 10am from Station Master’s Cafe, Hadlow Rd. The café opens at 09:30 should nutrition be needed.

So given it’s still winter ish and the weather iffy/cold I’m still doing the ‘winter series’ B taster ride format of about 2hr (ish) ride to and from lunch, then even allowing an hour for lunch/mechanicals we should be back at start/marsh gate for 3 and have some of (any?) the heat of the day left to get home 🙂

Welsh Wednesday is out to the Motobike cafe at Leeswood.
Outbound is lumpy once over the Dee, as from Connah’s Quay we go out up Papermill Lane and then The Green, quick twiddle to Sychdyn (Theartre Clwyd Rd, but much nicer now it has average speed cameras) quickly turning off and heading across the Denbigh Rd and across the backend of Mold to Nercwys and a short(ish) climb towards Leeswood before a sweeping drop to the cafe. 28m and 1300′ of climb and 3 climbs that will get your attention.
Return starts with a brief descent to Pontblyddyn, then a climb to Padeswood golf course (offers fabulous views of the cement factory chimney 😉 ) then climbing into Buckley, descending to Ewloe Green, over to Northop Hall, Wepre, Connah’s Quay and back across the Dee. 16m and 400′ of climb back to the marsh gate.
