If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities. 
If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of Grade D rides which are suitable for newcomers.

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride



(B) Ride (47 miles) Thornton Hough to Chester via Eccleston.

    This ride is a B ride of 47 miles, with around 1,300 feet of climb.

    We will aim to maintain an average speed of 12 – 14 MPH. To achieve this, we will need to cycle at a higher speed for most of the time.

    Meeting at Thornton Hough Village Hall (Manor Road) at 09:45 for a 10:00 depart.

    Route Out Thornton Hough, Raby, Mill Lane to Ness, Burton marshes, River Dee path, Saltney Ferry, Dodleston, Poulton, Eccleston, Chester (27 miles to Chester).

    Lunch Will be at the Little Roodee cafe in Chester. Should you have any dietary needs then please contact the cafe and make your own arrangements. Tel: 0300 123 5059

    After Lunch We will be returning back to Thornton Hough, via short stretch along canal towpath, then Greenway to Sealand, Saughall, Capenhurst, Missing Link, Benty Heath Lane & Raby  (20 miles on return route to TH).

    Possible obstacles No major problems with this route, much of it is familiar to most of us, we will take extra care when crossing any main roads and look for pedestrian crossings / islands and traffic lights.
