We will aim to maintain an average speed of 12 – 14 MPH. To achieve this, we will need to cycle at a higher speed for most of the time.
Meeting at Thornton Hough Village Hall (Manor Road) at 09:45 for a 10:00 depart.
Route Out Thornton Hough, Raby, Mill Lane to Ness, Burton marshes, River Dee path, Saltney Ferry, Dodleston, Poulton, Eccleston, Chester (27 miles to Chester).
Route Garmin Connect
Lunch Will be at the Little Roodee cafe in Chester. Should you have any dietary needs then please contact the cafe and make your own arrangements. Tel: 0300 123 5059
After Lunch We will be returning back to Thornton Hough, via short stretch along canal towpath, then Greenway to Sealand, Saughall, Capenhurst, Missing Link, Benty Heath Lane & Raby (20 miles on return route to TH).
Possible obstacles No major problems with this route, much of it is familiar to most of us, we will take extra care when crossing any main roads and look for pedestrian crossings / islands and traffic lights.
