This is a c.44 mile ride at C pace (10 -12 mph average) with a small amount of climbing. The ride will be led by Dave Branch and we’ll meet at Hooton station 9.45 for a 10 am depart.
We will be visiting Manor Farm (the new Old Ma’s if you like!) at Gateheath. I have sent my spies and received good feedback on the food and pricing. @ Peter Williams – Beans on toast £2.99 – fill yer boots.
The outbound route will be through Capenhurst and along the A5117 to Stoak, through Mickle Trafford and Guilden Sutton to Waverton. From Waverton we’ll pick country lanes through Hargrave to Gateheath c 22 miles
The return route we’ll go to Bruera, climb up to Saighton before descending to the Dee at Huntington. We’ll ride through Boughton and Hoole before leaving Chester on the Greenway (Chester station bailout option is available at this point). Greenway back to the marsh gate (18 miles from Gateheath). From marsh gate riders can make their own way home or join me to ride back to Hooton.
