39 mile C ride averaging 10 to 12 mph. Decent roads and bikepaths. Elevation around 1500 feet. Mainly flattish terrain apart from the long steady climb that is Sandy Lane. What goes up tends to go down, & after lunch we have a long descent down to Shotton which requires some care & concentration. It’s 25 miles before lunch at Susan’s Coffee Shop, (usually an excellent & efficient cafe, the Welsh rarebit being particularly good), so bring something for the mid-morning snack.
The rideleader is David Hill; please try & join me outside Hooton station for 9.45. Ride to start 10.00.
Outward: Hooton, Burton, Marsh path, Deeside Industrial Estate, River Dee bikepath, Saltney Ferry bridge, Bretton, Kinnerton, Penyffordd, Penymynydd, Drury.
Return: Buckley, Ewloe, Shotton, Hawarden Bridge, Deeside Industrial Estate, Marsh path, Burton, Willaston, Hooton.
