This is a 43 mile C ride out to Rossett on well-surfaced roads & bike-paths – even the Welsh country lanes are not too bad. Only 524 feet of climbing, which is near the end of the ride, from the Burton Marsh Gate on Station Road up into Burton. Sandy Lane is not on the route. One descent, past Blacon Mosque, needs a little care. Average speed which will be 10 to 12 mph.
David Brewer will be the ride leader & will be at Hooton station from 9.45 for a pre-ride briefing, leaving at 10 am.
The Hwb in Rossett is a community cafe with tables inside & out. We reach it after 22 miles. The route there is Missing Link, Ledsham, Capenhurst, A5117 bikepath, Lodge Lane, Saughall, Blacon, Ferry Lane, Bretton, lanes south (including Green Lane) to Rossett.
Route back: Pulford Dodleston, Bretton, Saltney Ferry bridge Dee bikepath, Deeside industrial estate, Burton Marshes, Burton, Mudhouse Lane, Missing Link & back to Hooton.
(Riders living in Neston, Heswall, or north thereof, have an option to leave at the Marsh Gate.)
