(C) Port Sunlight to Nets via Blacon

09:30 Sunday December 6 2026

Current Participants: 11 space(s) available

This is a 30 mile grade C ride (10 -12 mph average speed) starting at Port Sunlight station and finishing at Nets and will be led by Dave Branch. This is a relatively short C ride to allow for the limited light at this time of year, so hopefully we all get home in good daylight, but bring lights in case. Also to ensure that we get to Nets in good time for lunch I plan to START THE RIDE AT 9.30. So 9.20 arrive for briefing please.

I am happy to accompany any riders back to Port Sunlight to collect cars, get train etc. This is approximately 10 miles from Nets

The route takes us from Port Sunlight railway station via Spital crossroads, Raby Mere, Hargrave Lane, Benty Heath Lane, Hooton Station, Missing Link, Capenhurst, Dunkirk, right onto the A5117 and Bypass Road cycle paths into Lodge Lane, then down Woodbank Lane across the Welsh Road to  join the Millennium Greenway by the dragon bridge as far as Blacon.  Then through Blacon to Sealand Road and Ferry Lane to Higher Ferry to join the Dee Path as far as Hawarden Bridge and then through Deeside Industrial Park and across the marsh path to Net’s.

Almost all is on good surfaces, but depending on the weather and other circumstances the Missing Link and Marsh Path may have a “top dressing”.

Another route “borrowed” from Paul Malloy – cheers Paul
