(B) Port Sunlight to Dunham-on-the Hill; Manley and Barrow
This is a 52 mile total ride. Certain Riders should be fit and used to the distance and hills after the Morecambe trip! It is graded B because of the distance and number of hills to climb (2000+ ft total ascent). It is mainly on quiet lanes, on tarmac throughout. However depending on riders attending we could run it at C pace 10 to 12 mph rather than 12 to 14.
David Brewer will be Ride Leader. Start time is 10:00 from Port Sunlight station. Please arrive a little earlier for a briefing.
The route will be down the railway cycle route to Bromborough; Eastham ; back of Vauxhalls; Ellesmere Port near Boat Museum; A5117 cycle path; Thornton-le -Moors; Dunham -on -the -Hill; Manley; Cob Hall Lane; Norton’s Lane; Great Barrow; Stamford Bridge; Guilden Sutton; Mickle Trafford (lunch). Back via Upton Heath; Chester Zoo area; Backford; Mollington; Saughall; Garden City; Burton Moss; Denhall Lane; Neston; Thornton Hough; Brimstage; Storeton; Higher Bebington and return to Port Sunlight. We could shorten the return route if required.
