This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride



(D) Bromboro – Burton Manor – Bromboro

    A 22 mile D ride (average pace 8 to 10 mph) on decent roads & bikepaths to start the New Year.  Largely flattish terrain with just 2 gentle climbs & 600 feet of ascent in all.

    David Hill is the rideleader & will be at the Merebrook next to Bromborough railway station from 10.15 for a 10.30 start. 16 miles or so takes us to the usually reliable Burton Manor for lunch.

    Outward leg: Brookhurst Ave., Benty Heath Lane, Raby, Thornton Hough, The Runnell, up Boathouse Lane, Gayton, Wirral Way, Parkgate Parade, up to Neston, Little Neston, past Ness Gardens, & on to Burton.

    • Return leg: up through Burton, Mudhouse Lane, Badgers Rake Lane, Missing Link, Heath Lane, Eastham Rake, Brookhurst Ave again, back to The Merebrook.
    • No offence taken if riders from Neston, Heswall, West Kirby etc. decide to give the return leg a miss…
