This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride



(D) North East Circular

10:00 Wednesday January 28 2026

    This ride is Grade D, around 25 miles distance on mainly flat surfaces, The route uses quiet roads and shared use paths. We will begin the ride at Hamilton Square train station at 10am. Please arrive 9.45 for the ride briefing.

    From Woodside ferry we will cycle towards Seacombe ferry were we will then turn inland. Heading towards Wallasey Village, through Bidston Moss, the Beechwood and Woodchurch estates before arriving at Arrowe Park (after about 10 miles), were we will have a short break. ‘Energise Cycles’ have re-located here- we can pop in and say hello! Toilets are available.

    Once refreshed we will continue through Arrowe Park, Greasby, Saughall Massey towards our lunch destination at Marias cafe in Meols- parties of 6+ need to be booked in advance, I will contact attendees, in due course if menu choices are required in advance.

    After lunch we will cycle back to the start point, following the Wirral Coastal Path.
