This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride



(D) Red Rooms Arrowe Park to Thurstaston (via T H & Hinderton)

    This is a “D” ride, average speed 9 to 10 mph which is led by Mark Burrows from Red Rooms in Arrowe Park to the Whistle Stop Café at Thurstaston, Via Thornton Hough & Hinderton.

    Distance of the ride is about 19 miles, with 650 ft up, & 750 ft down.

    Planned start is 10:00am,  with a pre-ride briefing at 09:45am at Red Rooms & ENERGISE CYCLES in Arrowe Park.

    There is always the option to meet at the village hall in Thornton Hough (10:30am-ish) by arrangement with Mark.

    The route leaves Arrowe Park towards Landican Lane, onward over the track to Storeton.  Then head for Brimstage,  Thornton Hough, Hinderton, through Neston.  Continuing past the bottom of the Runnel, along to Barnston Road, Milner Road, Irby Road to drop down to Thurstaston gliding down Station Road to the coast.

    Lunch is available at the Whistle Stop Café.  Any special dietary requirements please contact the café directly 0151 648 0499.

    After lunch, it has been usual to separate in both directions along the Wirral Way, either towards Heswall & Neston, or towards West Kirby where the train could be taken.
