This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride



(D) Ride Hooton Station to Wepre Park Circular

    25 mls ‘D’ ride from Hooton Station to Wepre Park and circular return. Meet at 10.15 am for briefing before 10.30 am start. Ride will be at average speed of 9 to 10mph and total elevation of 500 ft with 2 steady climbs up to Wepre Park and up Station Road from the marshes into Burton.

    Course will head via the Missing Link to Capenhurst, along the busy A540 for a short stretch before turning towards Shotwick. After crossing at the Welsh Road traffic lights, we will follow the cycle path into the Deeside Industrial Estate before picking up the Chester Millenium Gateway path at the blue Dragon Bridge. Then head to cross the River Dee at Hawarden Bridge to Shotton crossing the High Street and heading up to Wepre Park cafe after c.12 mls for lunch.

    Return will be down to the Shotton Dock Road cycle path following the River Dee to Hawarden Bridge then picking up the Burton marshes cycle path before turning up Station Road into Burton. Then following Mudhouse Lane to return again via the Missing Link to Hooton Station.
