This is one of the rides in Wirral Cycling Group's annual trips and so places on this ride are reserved for paid-up members of Wirral Cycling Group.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ROUTES DESCRIBED BELOW ARE PROVISIONAL AND MAY CHANGED AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN RECONNOITRED.

They will, though, all start and finish in Morecambe and the grade and average speed will remain the same, but the total distance may vary a bit.

(D) Morecambe to Galgate

    The ride begins at 9:30 by the starting point of the Way of the Roses on the promenade at Morecambe.  Please be at the start by 09:15.

    The route starts to the North East along the promenade before turning to head through Torrisholme to the Millennium Bridge, over the River Lune and then along the river bank to the Crook of Lune.  Turning South at Caton with a long steady climb (the only one of the day) to Quernmore, before a long stead descent to Galgate and Conder Green for lunch at The Stork.

    Then back via the cycle way alongside the River Lune to Lancaster, crossing the Millennium Bridge for second time and following the Way of the Roses route back to Morecambe and the sea shore.

    A Grade D ride of 29.6 miles at an average speed of 9 mph.  All on good quality surfaces.
