This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride

    D ride Birkenhead Park to Flissy’s Thurstaston, via Port Sunlight, no major hills and approximately 19 miles to lunch. We’ll meet by the visitors centre in Birkenhead Park at 10.15 to leave by 10.30. We can pause by the station in Port Sunlight if anyone wants to join in there.

    The route from Birkenhead Park will follow the Wirral Circular trail to P.Sunlight.

    Lunch at Flissy’s is usually fairly slick but there is also Whistle Stop cafe and outside seating there for bringing your own lunch.

    Whistle Stop cafe like to be notified if a big group is arriving which is why I’ve chosen Flissy’s in this instance.

    After lunch riders can choose their route home. Wirral Way south for Neston & Heswall. I’ll be going north on the Wirral Way to West Kirby, probably for the train at this time of year. This train will take anyone needing to return to the start, back to Birkenhead Park.
