This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride


(D)Hamilton Square station-Benty Tearooms, Thurstaston

    This is a D ride lead by Jill McNamee. Be at Hamilton Square station for 10am, leaving at 10.15. We’ll ride up alongside the R.Mersey, cutting inland by the Eggy Ferry pub, through Central Park, down to the Bidston nature reserve [ex-tip] over Bidston Golf course, along the Birket. We’ll stop by the Blue Hut for a banana break, coffee if you’re quick enough, and toilets. Then on towards Hoylake and West Kirby where we pick up the Wirral Way for a few miles. We then have one climb, up Station Rd to get to Benty Tearooms where there is indoor, outdoor and marquee seating. Unfortunately you can’t eat your own in the cafe grounds.

    I’ll probably head home through Greasby, towards Moreton and can take trains users to stations heading towards Birkenhead and Liverpool.

    Once I’ve done the recce I’ll post the route and any other details here.
