(C) Hooton to Chocks Away

10:00 Wednesday March 9 2022

Current Participants: 4 space(s) available

Clare Procter is the ride leader for this C grade mainly flat 35 mile round trip to Chocks Away. The route will be 20 miles to the lunch stop at Chocks Away diner at Hawarden airport and for those wishing to return to Hooton a 15 mile return route. The ride will start at Hooton Station at 10am. Check in at 9.45am.

The route takes us past the boat museum then through Ellesmere Port and Great Sutton towards Capenhurst then along Dunkirk and the A5117 to Lodge Lane then through Saughall to the Saltney Bridge.

It is 20 miles to the lunch stop at Chocks Away where hopefully we will catch sight of the huge beluga plane either landing or taking off. The return route to Hooton will be 15 miles along the river to Hawarden then the greenway to Burton.  There is a short climb through Burton village before taking the gentler option of Mudhouse Lane and the missing link.  I expect several riders will leave the

ride at the Marsh Gates which is the 30 mile mark.
