This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

    Ride Leader Ewan Wilkinson.  Meet Capenhurst 9.45 for 10 am start

    A moderately demanding ride with quite a bit of climbing – 51 miles, 2400 feet climb

    From Capenhurst we drop down past Shotwick Dale and the industrial estate to the Greenway to cross Hawarden bridge.  Climb up past the west of Wepre park and Northop Hall through Soughton and dropping down to cross the main road out of Mold. Quite a steep climb ( around 9 %) up to Gwernaffield,  and carry on climbing up Nercwys mountain.  From there we mostly drop down to Caergwrle, with lunch at Walters in Higher Kinnington (34 miles)

    Back down to cross the Dee at Saltney, through Blacon and along the Greenway. Up to Saughall and beside the A494 back to Capenhurst
