Thornton Hough Village hall Return to Thornton Hough for the Ride Leaders meeting.
The points for discussion are posted below.
Ride briefing 9.45 at Thornton Hough Village Hall for a 10:00 depart.
There will be a D ride and a C ride both leaving from T’Hough. I posted the details below the C ride if you would like to join the D ride please sign up on planned rides page and let me know.
I will be looking to cover the ride at a good pace, not a lot of time for chatting as we need to cover the 22.5 miles over a 2 hours + ie averaging 12 – mile an hour.
Route – Mainly flat with a few upward slopes 375 ft over the ride. Down through The Runnel through Neston and on past Net’s cafe, before going over the boards to Deeside Ind Pk. We will then go up Mudhouse Lane and turn towards the Blue Dragon bridge before going alongside the duel carriageway towards Dunkirk where we will turn towards Capenhurst, Ledsham, Missing Link and Raby before getting back to Thornton Hough.
Distance out 22.5 miles get back for the lunch about 12.15
Lunch:- A complimentary Buffet lunch will be provided for attendees. If you have any dietary requirements then please contact either myself or the cafe. 0151 336 1958
Even if you can’t make the ride then you are very welcome to join us for lunch and the meeting.
Possible obstacles We will take extra care when crossing any main roads or major junctions we will look for pedestrian crossings / islands and traffic lights.
Route on Komoot Thornton Hough If you require the route on other formats please let me know.
Questions via email please to Peter Williams
1) It is proposed to ensure inclusivity for all members, that each Wednesday there will ideally be the option of a standard C and D ride, each with 15 places per ride. A smaller B grade (not necessarily weekly) could be put on as an additional option by leaders wishing to do so. We believe there is sufficient demand (and leaders) to enable this
3) Agree grading of rides (B,C,D) – Do we need to specify the plus or minus, it is either a C or D. Agree distance and speed for each grade
4) Ride leader Coordinator role – description / volunteer needed
