(D+) Port Sunlight to Tanskeys Bistro West Kirby

10:30 Wednesday November 19 2025

Current Participants: 9 space(s) available

Hello, this is Barry and todays ride will be a D+ of about 21 miles to the cafe but as the ride is returning to start there is still a good way to go after lunch. The total mileage is a little lower than usual but we need to be aware of the shorter days.

So when we leave the Station we’ll take a ride around the River Park for the views up and down the river. On leaving there we’ll ride through Spital, clatterbridge and Raby Mere on our way to Thornton Hough. Then passing through there, up to and over the Hoylake Road, down the Runnell and onto Boathouse Lane. Up the lane and turning left at Gayton Parkway through lower Heswall onto higher Heswall and up the challenging hill to Oldfield road. Back up to Telegraph Road then down the hill and turn left at Station road to The Wirral Way. Along The Wirral Way into West kirby and Tanskeys.

Tanskeys is a good quality cafe, tables have been booked but there are facilities outside who don’t want to take the cafe option.

On leaving the intention will be to continue through Hoylake, along the top of Wirral to  New Brighton and a right turn at Birkenhead back to Port Sunlight.

There are a couple of rises on the route especially in Heswall but this can be avoided by going straight to Wirral Way.

So that’s it, if you fancy it see you there. In the event  of any questions my
