(D) Neston to Chocks Away, Hawarden Airport

10:00 Wednesday July 6 2022

Current Participants: 4 space(s) available

This is a grade D ride, re-scheduled from 8th June, 28 miles long, starting in Neston from outside the Blue Bicycle cafe near the gate into the church grounds of St Mary’s & St Helens. It’s a little longer than the average D ride, but there are no (upward) gradients to speak of, & the going is on normal roads & good quality cycle tracks (with one tiny section of the Wirral Way at the very start). We’ll head through Little Neston, passing Ness Botanic Gardens before tumbling down Denhall Lane to the boardwalk over the marshes, passing Toyota & accessing the Dee cycle path, onward to Saltney Ferry bridge. Lunch is at Chocks Away. Returning, we’ll use the Dee cycle path again as far as Jubilee Bridge, then through Garden City to the Dragon bridge, using the Greenway to access Deeside Industrial Estate & the boardwalk once more. The way back to Neston will pass Nets & The Harp. The ride leader, David Hill, will be at the start at 9.45 for registration with the ride to start at 10 am. (The wind on the Dee cycle path is of course guaranteed to be against us in both directions.)
