This is ride is open to all members of the Wirral Cycling Group, but is also suitable for people who have not previously ridden with a cycling group.  If you would like to join us on a ride, then book onto this ride using the form below, but please telephone or email the ride leader when you receive the booking confirmation to let them know about your experience and capabilities.  
Before the ride, check out the page on our website about taking part in one of our rides "Taking Part", and read the Advice from Cycling UK on riding in a group.  If you are new to riding with a group, please arrive 15 minutes before the advertised start time, so that the ride leader can brief you on how to ride safely with a group of other riders. 

If you have an underlying health condition which could flare up when cycling (such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylactic shock, heart issues, etc.), then it would be appreciated if you could disclose this to the ride leader (in confidence) prior to the start of the ride

(D) Port Sunlight Ride to Relax at Thornton Hough

    This will be a grade D ride of about 20 to 25 miles (exact route details to be fully reccied and confirmed later) travelling at 9 to 10 mph in a clockwise direction around our Wirral peninsular. No significant climbs.

    David Brewer will be ride leader starting at the later time of 11:00 from Port Sunlight Station. Pease be there at 1045 for a safety briefing

    The main route will be down the railway path to Eastham, then onto Childer Thornton, Ledsham , Woodbank, Deeside Industrial Estate, Banana break at Burton Marsh, Neston  and on to  Thornton Hough (exact route details to be fully reccied and confirmed later with Garmin / GPX).

    Lunch is arranged at Thornton Hough Village Hall cafe for 1300 to 1330 (cost approximately £10 each including a hot drink .

    After lunch Dave Branch has arranged for physiotherapist Karen, from Wirral Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy. to put on a one hour workout for us all  covering all our aching joints , muscles, our positioning on bikes etc. The club will donate £50 to Friends of Clatterbridge for this session but private donations will also be welcomed. I am sure we will all find this workout to be useful and to be of  good future benefit.

    The route ends at Thornton Hough , but I will be happy to escort anyone back to Port Sunlight if it is needed
