This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

John H (C) Moreton to Port Sunlight and Heswall

      The ride will start at 10:00 from outside Moreton railway station on Station Approach.  On Sunday morning trains arrive at Moreton from Hamilton Square at 9:54 and from West Kirby at 9:41.  The ride leader, John Hampson, will be there from 09:45.

      The route is 33 miles long, Grade C, so we can expect to be back at Moreton station around 14:00.  Click on this link: Moreton to Port Sunlight and Heswallif you would like to see the route on Komoot.

      We will travel out via Leasowe to New Brighton and on to Seacombe Ferry, then past Woodside Ferry and Cammell Lairds with a quick break for a snack at Shorefields overlooking the Mersey.  Then continuing to Poulton Lancelyn, past Raby Mere, through Raby, Thornton Hough and Heswall before stopping for lunch (Whistle Stop Cafe or bring your own sandwiches) at the Wirral Country Park on the banks of the Dee by  Thurstatston.   Back by Thurstaston, Greasby and Saughall Massie to Moreton station.
