This ride is only open to members of the Wirral Cycling Group.  If you are an experienced rider who has ridden with other cycling groups and would like to join us on a ride, then please get in touch with us via the <Contact Form> so we can make arrangements.  If you have not ridden with a cycling group before, and would like to find out what riding with our group is like, then please book onto one of our monthly rides for newcomers.

West Kirby to The Boat Museum

      The ride will be approximately 44 miles long, Grade B, starting at 10:00 am from outside West Kirby Station.  Trains arrive at West Kirby from Hamilton Square at 09:25 and 09:45 on Wednesday mornings.  The ride leader will be Paul Malloy and he will be at West Kirby station from 09:45.

      The ride will go out from West Kirby via Hoylake, Meols and Moreton to New Brighton, then down Egremont Promenade and through Tranmere, Rock Park and Bromborough to Eastham Ferry. with the final leg to the Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port at 28 miles.  The return to West Kirby will be via Little Sutton, Hooton station, Thornton Hough, Irby and Caldy, although people can bale out along the route home to go home, or to catch a train at one of many Merseyrail stations along the way (at Ellesmere Port, Overpool, Little Sutton, Hooton, and Heswall).
