28 miles, Grade C: Tour of Wirral’s Blue Plaques Ride from Port Sunlight

This is a ride of approximately 28 miles viewing some of Wirral’s Blue Plaques, erected for Wirral famous residents.  Some parts are a bit hilly but we will have plenty of stops. The first plaque is for Chevalier Blondin at Eastham Ferry and the last is for Wilfred Owen in Birkenhead.  In between we will visit:- Roger Lancelyn Green; Ann Davison; Harold Wilson; Charlotte Dodd; Joseph Mayer; Dixie Dean; Philip Toosey; Cyril Scott; Edith Smith; Edward Kemp; Thomas Brassey; Alan Rouse; Dr Dominic Joseph Poggi; James Gillespie Graham; and Henry Tate. There is one off road section in Eastham Woods

The route will follow the old Lever railway cycle path to Eastham Ferry; then through the Eastham Wood bridle path to NCR; Neville Road; Acre Lane; Dibbinsdale Rd.;  Poulton Hall Rd.; Thornton Common Rd.; Clatterbridge Rd; Old Clatterbridge Rd.; Cross Lane; Heath Rd.; Bebington Rd,; Old Chester Rd; Prenton Rd. E; Prenton Rd. W; Storeton Rd; Rose Mount; Village Rd; Palm Hill; Palm Grove; Park Drive; Arthur St.; Beckwith St.; Cavendish St,; Price St.; Beaufort Rd.; Wallasey Bridge Rd.; Poulton Bridge Rd.; Breck Rd.; St Hillary Brow; Wallasey Rd.; Seaview Rd.; Earlston Rd.; Rake Lane; Magazine Lane; back down prom. to Woodside; Hamilton Sq.; Hamilton St.; Conway St. ; Argyle St. (big hill!); Elm Grove; Derby Rd back to Port Sunlight start.
