This is a 40mile total grade C ride nearly all on tarmac and quite roads/ lanes. There are a few hills- 856 ft total ascent.
The route is via the railway path from Sunlight to Eastham, Childer Thornton, Little Sutton, Capenhurst, Dunkirk, A5117 cycle path, Little Stanney, The Rake, past Chester Zoo, Acres Lane, Mickle Trafford and onto Plemstall, stopping at Peter’s church and Plegmund’s Well. Lunch at Meadow Lea. Then onto Barrow – to visit St Bartholomew’s Church and head home via Dunham on the Hill, Thornton le Moors (St. Mary’s Church), Ellesmere Port, Vauxhalls, Eastham, Bromborough back to Port Sunlight.
Lunch will be at Meadow Lea coffee shop/ cafe.
The route returns to the start but we will go back via Ellesmere Port station for anyone wanting to shorten the ride and get the train from there.
