45 miles, Grade C: Hooton to Rossett via Higher Kinnerton

A C ride of nearly 45 miles, average pace 10 to 12 mph, on well surfaced roads & bike paths, into some Welsh countryside in the Rossett & Pulford area. It’s predominantly flat with some undulating parts; 22 miles before lunch at the Cwtch Cafe in Rossett.  Outward from Hooton Station via The Missing Link, Capenhurst, taking care on a short stretch of the A540, crossing into Woodbank Lane, along Lodge Lane to Saughall, saying hello to Blacon with steep descent after the mosque, Ferry Lane, Saltney Ferry Bridge, towards Kinnerton, quiet country lanes with an anti-clockwise loop taking us to Rossett & the cafe stop.

Return leg, largely rural lanes through Pulford, Dodleston, Bretton, back to Saltney Ferry Bridge, hard left along the Dee bike path, leaving it near Garden City & joining Greenway at Dragon Bridge, on to Deeside Industrial Estate, over Burton Marshes, up to Burton via Station Road, Mudhouse Lane, Capenhurst, The Missing Link, & Hooton station again.
