Largely quiet roads, some badly maintained. Beautiful views, purchased by lots of climbing.
Starting from the car park on the southern side of the River Dee by the Saltney Ferry footbridge, the route goes out past the Airbus factory and Broughton, up the Old Warren and then down the Old Hope Road to Hope and Caergwrle. Then from Cefn-y-Bedd across to Brymbo and Minera and onto the World’s End route all the way to Pen-y-Cae, before turning north to Coedpoeth. Back through New Broughton and Gwersyllt, skirting Llay and through Rossett, Pulford, Doddleston and Saltney back to the footbridge at Saltney Ferry.
50 miles, 1,000 metres of climb.
