26 miles, Grade D: Newcomers’ Ride from New Brighton

The route is 26 miles in total, at a Grade D pace (See website for ride grade details), 15 miles to lunch at the Thurstaston Visitors centre and 11 miles back along the North Wirral Coast to New Brighton.

The ride starts from the Perch Rock Car Park in front of the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton.

The route is fairly flat, bit of an uphill off the promenade by Egremont Ferry and Arrowe Brook Lane, Greasby is a long slope requiring you to select a lower gear.

The first short break (5 – 10 min) is after 7 miles at the Pasture Road, Moreton, time for a drink and a quick banana snack.  The lunch stop at approximately (15 Miles) is at Wirral Country Park  overlooking the Dee Estuary.  Bring your own sandwiches and a drink, or pick up something from one of the two cafe’s next to the park (Whistle Stop Cafe or Flissy Coffee Shop). The final stop before the return to New Brighton is along the North Wirral shore at Meols  after 21 miles.
