This is a fairly easy C grade ride. Quite short at 29 miles total, but with some uphill riding.
The ride starts from the Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre and we will first cycle around the park before setting off on a climb of around 200 feet up to Prenton, stretched over about 1.7 miles. Then it is on our way to whizz down Rest Hill Road and continue to Brimstage, Thornton Hough and Raby, where we will stop for a banana break. From there we will make our way to Willaston and then Burton Village where we will turn down Puddington Lane to reach our lunch destination, the Gift Café at Puddington.
The return leg follows Mudhouse Lane, Badgers Rake Lane, Scotchman’s Lane (Missing Link), Heath Lane, Benty Heath Lane, Hargrave Lane , Raby Hall Road and Blakely Road, leading to Raby Mere. We may take a short rest there before tackling the challenging Poulton Hall Road climb. We return to Birkenhead Park via Bebington and Borough Road.
