30 miles, Grade D: Blue Bicycle, Neston to Old Chapel, Saltney Ferry

Meeting by the Blue Bicycle Cafe, 10, The Cross, Neston CH64 9UB at side entrance by church

Distance   30 miles (D ride)

Lunch stop   The Old Chapel Café, Saltney

Route:

From Neston towards Burton, then up to the main A540 Chester Road, where we take care when crossing at the lights.  Continuing through Ledsham and Capenhurst, crossing the A540 once more to turn right down towards the delightful small village of Shotwick with its ancient church and 17th century houses www.shotwick.org.uk/history/history-1811.php

After pausing here for a banana stop, we go for a short way down a track which is uneven in parts. I will probably walk along here, but it is certainly possible to cycle for those with suitable tyres. We then rejoin the roadway to cross the river Dee at Saltney Ferry bridge and arrive at The Old Chapel Café and Activity Space.

We return via Blacon and the Greenway to cross Burton Marshes, past Nets and back to Neston.
